Project Overview
This project was a complete refurbishment of an elegant period apartment in South Kensington, one of London's most desirable residential neighbourhoods.
The brief was to modernise the home throughout while retaining and celebrating its original character — the marble fireplace, timber panelling, leaded-glass doors and generous proportions that give the apartment its charm.
We coordinated the works from strip-out through to final styling, acting as the client's single point of contact and balancing sensitive restoration with a fresh, contemporary finish across every room.
Scope of Works
The apartment was taken back and rebuilt with a light, contemporary finish:
- Full strip-out and re-plastering of walls and ceilings throughout.
- Sensitive restoration of the original marble fireplace as the reception room's focal point.
- Bespoke alcove shelving and joinery to the chimney breasts.
- New engineered timber flooring across the reception rooms and hallway.
- Restored timber panelling, leaded-glass doors and decorative radiator covers.
- Careful protection of existing patterned tiling and finishes during the works.
- Redecoration throughout in a soft, contemporary palette.
- New curtains, sheers and window treatments to every room.
- Reconfiguration of a study/home office and a bright dining area.
Interior Styling & FF&E
Beyond the building works, we curated the furnishing and styling of the principal rooms — pairing rich teal velvet seating and a patterned kilim ottoman with decorative Venetian and sunburst mirrors, greenery and considered accessories to create a warm, characterful and inviting home.
